The Funny Bones formed at the Royal Academy of Music, under the guidance of bona fine trombone royalty Ian Bousfield, Peter Moore, Matthew Gee and Bob Hughes. They are the winners of the 2024 Musicians’ Company Brass Ensemble Prize. Together, they have performed at prestigious venues across the UK and Europe, including the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Auditorio Nacional de España, Ferrandou Musique and Ulster Hall. They bring a bold, charismatic sound, combining world-class brass playing with an infectious sense of fun. They’re also genuinely really funny. So make sure you say hi at the bar afterwards.
